Last Chance—Register for Field to Fork Fest Today!

Hey folks—just a friendly reminder that the registration deadline for the Field to Fork Festival in Berea is June 24th. This two day festival takes place July 19th and 20th on Halcomb’s Knob Farm and features informative, in-depth workshops. You can read an attendee’s perspective on the blog Simple Living in a Complex World.

I was an instructor at last year’s festival but will not be able to teach this year due to a scheduling conflict. However, there is a great diversity of workshops—nearly 35 in total. If you ever wanted to learn about raising sheep for wool or building a chicken coop from someone with real-life expertise, this is the festival for you. One workshop I can guarantee you won’t want to miss is the mushroom cultivation workshop with my friend Tim Hensley of Forest Retreats. His mushroom growing method is totally different from any you’ve ever seen, much simpler and less labor intensive.

Is it just me or is the piglet smiling here? I think he likes the attention!

There will also be an assortment of vendors including Marksbury Farms and the Bluebird—in other words, you are going home with a full and happy belly! If you take the opportunity, there will also be plenty of time to interact with fellow attendees who share your strange interests—like composting toilets or heirloom seeds. Getting to meet other folks who share my passion for sustainability is usually my favorite part of attending an event like this!
