Mark your calendars! There are two major events coming up soon that I wanted you to be aware of.
- The Kentucky Association for Environmental Education will be holding their annual Sustainability Symposium on June 22nd at the Russell Acton Folk Center in Berea. The registration deadline is June 15th! This day-long conference will address the topic of sustainability and includes tours of Berea’s EcoVillage and the college farm. (Not to mention a local lunch . . . yum!) I plan on attending, and you should, too!
- Also on June 22nd, the annual event Veggin’ Out At The Pool will be at the Southland Aquatic Center in Lexington from 5:30-7:30 pm. Delicious local food, fun, and great company. If you are in the area, you need to be here for this event sponsored by Lexington Farmers Market and Good Foods. (Actually, if you are really adventurous, you could go to the sustainability symposium all day in Berea and then hop on up to Lexington for dinner at the pool . . . just an idea!) Tickets available at Good Foods, Lexington Farmers Market, and the Southland Aquatic Center. Just $10 for adults/$5 for kiddos.
